GENERAL QUESTIONS

WHAT IS AN OOONO® TRAFFIC ALARM?

The ooono traffic alarm is a small electronic, wireless button for the car. It warns you about speed traps and road hazards. The warnings sounds and blinks about 30 seconds before the point of interest.

To confirm an alarm to the database you press once on ooono. If it turns out to be false alarm you do nothing. If you see a speed trap or road hazard without warning this means you are the first on the spot. Is it a speed trap, then you press ooono once and if it is a road hazard you double click ooono. Road hazards are queue, accidents, road constructions, lost goods, animals on the road or pretty much anything that requires additional attention from you and your fellow drivers.

HOW DOES OOONO® WORK?

ooono connects to the app “ooono connect” on your phone. ooono and the app exchanges data with multiple databases around Europe and has access to on of the largest networks of its kind. ooono works because of the many dedicated drivers that all share their traffic sightings real time.

OOONO® QUESTIONS

HOW DO I ADJUST THE ALARM SOUND LEVEL?

The volume of ooono alarms is by default set to maximum, but it is possible to select one of two lower settings or to turn off the alarm sound so that only the light is visible. For example, if you are driving with sleeping children at night or just like the silence. Only the alarm sound is set, the other sounds cannot be adjusted, but they are designed to be as subtle as possible.

To adjust the volume of the alarms, go to Settings in the app by scrolling down to the bottom of the screen and make your choice. The app remembers your choice until the next time you change it.

HOW DO I SELECT WARNING TYPES?

If you are only interested in one type of alarm, you can choose the one under settings in the app. The app remembers your choice until the next time you change it.

WHAT DOES THE SOUND AND LIGHT SIGNALS MEAN?

The light in ooono could be all colors, but to avoid unnecessary confusion we have picked only three; green, blue and red that is. The green light shows when ooono turns on, connects and is connected (green status flashing). Red light shows when driving but not connected, loses connection and when ooono goes out. In addition, red light shows in connection with road hazards and upon confirmation. The blue light only shows with speed traps and confirmation. We have made the sounds clear and subtle, so you hear them but without seeming presumptuous. The alarm sound is by far the most intrusive of all the sounds, but it is possible in the app to turn down the volume if desired.

SETTINGS YOU SHOULD CHECK IF OOONO CAN'T CONNECT

If your ooono does not automatically connect when you start driving it may just be a few settings in your phone that needs changing.

Generally, remember to turn on:

BluetoothMobile dataLocation

iPhone:

Update app in the background.

Make sure that apps can update in the background. This setting can be found in “settings and general”.

It is very important that Location services are set to “always”. These settings are found under “Settings and anonymity”.

Android:

Power and battery management

Android is available in many versions and many different brands of phones. Each Android version and each mobile brand have their own version of power / battery management.

This can be found under settings and may be overall or for each app and may e.g. called something like device management, power management or battery optimization.

Make sure that the “ooono connect” app is NOT subject to power / battery management.

Both:

Sometimes the phones may need some cleanup in the settings after updating the operating system – or generally before connecting ooono. Here it is important to follow the order very accurately.

1. First, uninstall the app “ooono connect”
2. Then RESTART the phone. It’s important to reboot, instead of just turning off and on, as the phone clears old settings at restart. It does not do so if turned off and on.
3.Then afterwards the phone must be turned off and on, to be sure it is cleared of everything it had to do with ooono.
4. Now turn off the ooono device by holding down the button for approx. 20 seconds until you hear one long beep.
5. Download and install the app “ooono connect”.
6. Be sure that the “ooono connect” app receives the rights it requests and is ALWAYS allowed to use location.
7. If you have Android, add “ooono connect” app to the list of protected apps or allow the “ooono connect” app to ignore battery optimization, depending on which version of Android you have.
8. Open the app “ooono connect”.
9. Hold down the ooono button for 5-7 seconds until it beeps and flashes, then release the button

Now the phone and ooono should connect after a very short period of time and automatically connect in the future.

HOW LONG DOES THE BATTERY LAST?

The battery is a 3V CR2450 lithium button cell battery. It typically lasts about 1 years, depending on usage, driving pattern and activity. Once you need a new battery, it can be purchased in most electronics stores and supermarkets and is relatively inexpensive.
